Objectives

  1. Epitaxial growth of multilayer (ML) TiO2/VO2 nanostructures with atomically sharp interfaces and variable thickness of the layers using the Pulsed Laser Deposition technique;
  2. Investigation of the Metal-to-Insulator Transition of the (TiO2)n/(VO2)m nanostructures;

  3. Identification and study of the novel Semi-Dirac behaviour of the charge carriers, occurred in
    (TiO2)n/(VO2)m nanostructures for m=3 and m=4;
  4. Study of the half-metallic ferromagnetic phase of the (TiO2)n/(VO2)m nanostructure;

  5. Investigation of the Metal-to-Insulator transition of the VO2, for probing the emerging properties of the (TiO2)n/(VO2)m nanostructure.
